Cathrine Swift writes multi-genre fiction that pulses with cinematic emotion. Sometimes steamy, but always richly infused with inclusive romance, responsible representation, and diversity, her books speak on found family, identity, empowerment, and healing. Passionate about crafting stories that reflect healthy relationships and the beautiful, resilient complexity of the human heart, her pages are filled with characters of all religions, races, sexual orientations, and identities.
Because love, in all its forms, deserves to be seen.
Like many writers, she fell in love with storytelling young—her first book (naturally) featured dragons and princesses, and at age eight, she won a short story contest, a victory she’s clearly still milking. Since then, she’s dedicated her adult life to honing her craft, finding her voice through hope, heartbreak, healing, and human connection.
Beyond her own writing, Cathrine is also a lifestyle and wedding photographer, a former podcast co-host, and occasional YouTuber.
She also helps indie authors navigate the highs and lows of their unique publishing journeys in her role as a book doula. She runs a local writer's group in the YEG area alongside her 'Abundant Artists' branding that focuses on wellness and productivity for the creative.
The majority of her professional time has been geared toward creating and orchestrating bookish events through her organization Tales and Trinkets Events that features authors and small businesses across Alberta - with dreams of expanding to western Canada one day. She firmly believes that when creatives rise together, the whole industry (and the world) changes for the better.
When she's not lost in her fictional worlds, she’s homeschooling her future marine biologist daughter, daydreaming about NYC, or indulging in her love of fandoms (Marvel, Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, and more). She’ll never say no to a peppermint matcha latte, her favourite trope is rivals to lovers, and her heart beats swiftly—for stories, the people and words that make life magic, and love itself.

. FAQ .
1. Why did you choose indie publishing?
Because I wanted full creative control over my projects in all aspects, and also I knew I could publish and produce books faster on my own than the traditional publishing houses could have.
One day I would like to pursue getting an agent and have my books produced into films, but for now I am content being the boss behind all the (exhausting) scenes.
2. What is your biggest author dream?
To walk the red carpet at a movie adaptation premier for any (*cough* ALL *cough*) of my books and to have a bookstore/open-mic poetry bar type establishment where the community can vibe together forever.
3. What is your writing routine?
I will literally write anywhere, anytime, by any means. If I had to have the perfect lighting, smell, drink, etc available to me, there is no way I would get anything done. BUT, I love a perfect candle and soft lighting or a peppermint matcha latte at the cafe with my writing bestie too.
